Jokichi Yakiniku has been in Taipei East District for a long time. People might consider that it is not easy to reserve seats. Recently in 2023, they are opened during lunch time too!

I choose to enjoy lunch set at Jokichi Yakiniku. Of course, you can choose to order single dish during lunch time. Monday and Tuesday do not open during lunch time. Friday Lunch time has specific Jokichi Kaiseki. In other words, please choose Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday noon to have NTD $880+ 10% Lunch Set.

Jokichi Yakiniku Reservation
上吉燒肉餐廳離國父紀念館捷運站一號出口約 5 分鐘路程, 餐廳就在公園對面, 進入餐廳後, 客人外套可以放進他們的衣櫥, 餐廳也有置物籃,上吉燒肉採用無煙炭精, 重點是餐廳沒有傳統燒肉或是居酒屋的氣味. 上吉燒肉訂位建議可用 inline ( https://reurl.cc/lvdAXA ) , 若是人數多, 可直接打電話 ( 02- 8772-5765 ).上吉燒肉餐廳有吧台, 長桌與包廂區. 皆有店員代烤.
Jokichi Yakiniku restaurant is about 5 minutes walking distance from SYS Memorial Hall MRT station Exit 1. The restaurant is right across the park. After entering the restaurant, You can put your jacket into their closet. Jokichi Yakiniku restaurant uses smokeless carbon rod. There isnt much heavy meaty smell. You can reserve via inline ( https://reurl.cc/lvdAXA ). If there are more people, you can call to reserve ( 02- 8772-5765 ). The restaurant has bar seats, long table, and private room area. Also, the restaurant staffs are responsible for grilling the meats.

Jokichi Yakiniku Private Dining Room and Long Table
上吉燒肉包廂具有日式風格, 需要脫鞋進入, 若想訂包廂, 請打電話問店家 ( 02- 8772-5765 ). 若是與一群朋友或家人聚餐, 也可以考慮坐長桌.
Jokichi Yakiniku restaurant has a Japanese style private room. You will need to take the shoes off. Please call the restaurant if you want to reserve the private room ( 02-8772-5765 ). If dining with friends or family members, you can consider sitting at the long table.

鹽蔥牛舌
Beef Tongue with Scallion and Salt

店員在烤的時候, 會講解鹽蔥牛舌是採用牛舌中段, 建議五分熟. 店員會準備一盤鹽蔥讓客人疊在烤好的薄牛舌, 放上些許蔥花, 一次入口同時有嫩與脆的口感, 蔥香與肉香十分搭配, 不錯吃.
While the staffs grill, they will explain that the beef tongue is located in the middle section of tongue. They will suggest medium. The staff will also prepare a dish of scallion and salt to pair with the thin beef tongue. While eating all together at once, you can sense both tender and crispy texture. The scallion aroma pairs well with the beef tongue, which tastes quite good.
和牛外橫隔膜
Wagyu Hanger Steak

這次吃到的是澳洲和牛 M9 等級的外橫隔膜, 油花分佈頗平均 , 上次在 “nku 西式餐廳” 也有吃到澳洲和牛橫隔膜, 我個人比較喜歡上吉燒肉的小 Size 肉品, 外層焦香更襯托出肉質的嫩度, 肉香更是迷人.
This time, I tasted Australian Wagyu M9 Level Hanger Steak. The fats are spread evenly. Last time, I had the Australian Wagyu Hanger Steak at “nku restaurant”. I personally prefer the small size meat. While tasting, you can sense the tender texture along with the grilled burnt appearance. The meaty aroma is also charming.

美國牛小排
Boneless US Prime Short Ribs

近期已陸續在西式餐廳 ( “Cucina Man Mano” ) 與 火鍋餐廳 ( “ 梁湯良湯” ) 吃過美國牛小排肉品, 這次在上吉燒肉也同樣品嚐到美國牛小排, 雖然是薄切, 高溫燒烤後的梅納反應讓這款肉品充滿了迷人且直球般的肉香.
Recently, I had US prime short ribs at Western restaurant (“Cucina Man Mano” ) and Hot Pot restaurant (“ Leung Soup “ ) . This time, I had the thin-sliced prime short ribs at Jokichi Yakiniku. The high temperature of grilling process cause Maillard reaction and makes this meat quite tasty and full of meaty flavor.

無骨雞腿肉

就是在烤雞腿肉時, 我發現店員很專業, 因為他解說上吉燒肉選擇肉雞而不是土雞的原因, 土雞燒烤後會偏硬, 油脂豐富的肉雞吃起來則是嫩軟口感, 外皮香脆, 比預期地美味.
I notice the staff is quite professional while grilling the chicken thigh meat. There are more fats in this type of chicken, which offers the overall tenderness. The chicken skin is quite crispy and better than expected.
霜降豬肉
Pork Neck Meat (Jowl )

松阪豬肉是燒烤餐廳不可缺少的肉品, 有些客人喜好偏脆口感, 我會建議霜降豬肉沾燒烤醬或是醬盤裡的現榨檸檬汁吃, 會有截然不同的滋味.
Pork Neck Meat (Jowl ) is a must-have meat at Yakiniku restaurant. Some customers prefer crispy texture. I will suggest to dip into the BBQ sauce or Lemon Juice at the sauce plate to eat. The tastebuds can sense different types of flavors.
(升級) 厚切牛舌
(Upgrade ) Thick-Sliced Beef Tongue

升級為加價 + NTD $150, 讓我來解釋升級的定義, 升級是「 加價代替」基本肉品 , 菜單都有註明. 例如, 可將鹽蔥牛舌升級到厚切牛舌, 並不是加點 . 厚切牛舌與牛舌一本燒是上吉燒肉的明星商品, 厚切牛舌則是採用牛舌後段, 外型看起來頗厚實, 口感卻非常得脆, 這是一道具日式燒肉DNA且美味的菜餚. 如果你是喜歡吃牛舌的人, 我會建議鹽蔥牛舌加價升級成厚切牛舌.
Upgrade Price is add +NTD $150 . Upgrade means「 Add extra money and replace 」the basic meat item. For example , Beef Tongue with Scallion and Salt upgrades to Thick-Sliced Beef Tongue. It is a popular meat item at the restaurant. Thick-sliced Beef Tongue is from the rear section. I will suggest to upgrade to thick-sliced beef tongue.
(升級) 日羽下牛排
(Upgrade ) Chuck Flap + NTD $480

升級加價是 + NTD $480, 有著細密大理石般油花的日本和牛A5 等級羽下牛排擺放在拼盤裡十分明顯, 肥瘦相間的誘惑, 網路提到 “羽下牛排又稱下肩胛翼板肉, 指的是肩胛肉中靠近肋骨的部位” , 當放下去燒烤時, 油脂讓肉品不斷有火花的出現, 也會滋滋作響, 雖然是日本和牛, 吃起來跟美國牛小排一樣好吃, 而且肉香飽滿. 我個人會建議美國牛小排升級成日羽下牛排.
Upgrade is to add +NTD $480. This Japanese Wagyu A5 Chuck Flap meat has large amount of marble fats, which is quite obvious placing at the plate. While putting down to grill, the marble fats cause the both flames and grilling sound. Even though it is Japanese Wagyu, it tastes similar with US prime ribs regarding the meaty aroma. I will suggest to upgrade the US prime ribs to Chuck Flap.
白飯/泡菜綜合/沙拉

上吉燒肉的白飯是採用日本米, 我個人蠻喜歡這種口感不會過軟的飯, 可以一口飯佐一口肉, 或是單純吃飯皆可. 午間套餐沙拉是二選一, 海帶芽沙拉或胡麻沙拉, 我是選份量頗多的海帶芽沙拉, 可考慮慢慢搭配燒肉吃.
The rice is Japanese rice, which I definitely prefer. You can pair the rice with the meat or just eat the rice solely. You can choose between Seaweed Sprout Salad or Salad with Sesame Sauce. I chose the seaweed sprout salad, which has large quantity. You can eat slowly and pair with the meats.
湯品/無酒精飲料/甜點

與其他日式餐廳不同, 上吉燒肉的套餐湯品是野菜湯, 野菜有著清脆的口感,上吉燒肉最受歡迎的無酒精飲料是蜂蜜檸檬汁, 微酸甜且有充份檸檬香氣. 甜點是自製奶酪, 比西式餐廳 ( “Pizza Persé ”) 的奶酪好吃很多.
Different from other Japanese restaurants, Jokichi Yakiniku’s soup in the set is mixed vegetable soup. Crispy texture is lovable. The popular non-alcohol drink is fresh honey lemon juice, which with less acidity and more sweetness. The dessert is custom-made Panna Cotta. It tastes better than western restaurant ( “Pizza Persé ”).

上吉燒肉有時候會有 Today’s Special , 位於吧台座位的上方 , 我跟朋友是單點一整份的伊比利豬肋條, 我平常比較常在西班牙餐廳 ( “Jarana” ) 吃伊比利生火腿, 這次在上吉吃的燒烤伊比利豬肋條也很滿意, 焦香裹身, 熟度恰好.
Jokichi Yakiniku sometimes have Today’s Special. It is right above the counter seats. My friend and I ordered single dish – Iberian Pork Finger Ribs. I usually eat Iberian Ham at Spanish Restaurant (“Jarana” ) . This time, I am satisfied with Jokichi’s Iberian Pork Finger Ribs.

生蛋黃置放於特製生牛肉中間, 店員協助均勻攪拌, 讓蛋液融入著生牛肉, 蔓延成客人喜歡吃的樣子,並沒有多餘的香料輔佐, 我會建議 3 ~ 4 人再單點分享這道餐點 .
The raw egg yolk is placed at the middle of beef tartare. The staff can assist mixing the egg yolk and beef. It tastes good. I would suggest 3 ~ 4 people to order this dish to share.

來日式燒肉餐廳, 當然要單點一瓶清酒搭燒肉, 一瓶 300ml 小西冷榨大吟釀 單價是 NTD $780, 千元有找, 喝起來柔順甘甜, 適合大眾, 1 ~ 2 人皆可輕鬆喝完.
Visiting the Japanese Yakiniku restaurant, you of course will order a bottle of sake. The small size 300ml of KONISHI Daiginjo Hiyashibori Sake price is NTD $780. It tastes smooth and a bit sweet, which is suitable for most people. 1 ~ 2 people can easily drink.
