可從中山捷運站1號出口或是2號出口往林森北路方向, 梅子鰻屋位於台北林森北路巷弄內, 隔一條街就是米其林必比登推薦的“濱松屋”鰻魚飯, 附近鰻魚飯餐廳更是數不清 (例如 “肥前屋“, “京都屋”, “魚庒-日本百年鰻料理專門店” ), 面對如此多競爭同業, 梅子鰻屋靠著”善用整條台灣新鮮活鰻”和 “超值” 在台北鰻魚日本料理餐廳屹立不搖, 市面上幾乎都是半隻或是 2/3 鰻魚販售 NTD $500 左右, 梅子鰻屋Facebook 粉絲頁 PO 整尾鰻魚飯價格在 NTD $500.
The closed by MRT would be Zhongshan MRT No. 1 or No. 2 heading to Linsen North Road. There are many Eel rice restaurants competitors around the area. UMEKO Japanese Restaurant chef uses whole live Taiwanese eel and price strategy to win over many customers. UMEKO one whole eel rice is NTD $500, which is probably the cheapest at Taipei City.

梅子鰻蒲燒專賣店餐廳內裝潢類似日本家庭式餐廳, 並沒有像 “大江戶町鰻屋”裝潢如此誇張, 桌椅也不會像 “肥前屋”一樣間隔太近而有壓力, 店員和店長/老闆年紀雖然與“雅苑港式餐廳”店員差不多, 但態度卻是相當客氣, 入座後, 店員隨後遞上熱騰騰麥茶, 仔細觀察發現跟”鼎泰豐“一樣可以從玻璃看到廚房作業,結帳時, 廚師們正撈起古溜的活鰻魚準備料理. 這次沒點單一鰻魚飯, 而是點商業午餐套餐.
Unlike “Edo Machi Eel Rice Restaurant”, UMEKO Japanese Restaurant indoor is more like Japanese family restaurant. The seating area is comfortable, unlike the most popular eel house in the area. The staff is quite friendly, unlike “Ya Yuen Cantonese Restaurant”. The hot Barley Tea is served right after seating. You can see the chefs working at the kitchen through glass, similar with “Din Tai Fung“. I order Business Lunch Set instead of single dish.

梅子鰻屋菜單上雖然寫生魚片, 但其實也可以選蝦蘆筍手卷. 我是選蝦蘆筍手卷,與 “欣葉日本料理 Buffet” 的手卷相比,梅子鰻屋手卷裡的蝦與蘆筍份量比預期地多, 酥脆海苔沒有受潮相當不錯, 完美會是我用來形容這道佐餐手卷.
Even though the menu stated sashimi. But, you can choose shrimp with asparagus hand roll. Comparing with “Shinyeh Japanese All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Restaurant”, UMEKO’s hand roll filling are better and more. The seaweed is crispy as well. Perfect would be the best description of this hand roll.

梅子鰻蒲燒專賣店餐廳沙拉不定期更換, 我原本以為日式沙拉會像 “Hana Bi 居酒屋”是小盤胡麻或是油醋沙拉, 孰不知是明蝦沙拉, 廚師已是先將蝦脫殼, 再擠上美乃滋, 雖然視覺上像在 “新東南” 看到的台式沙拉, 鮮蝦沾上微甜美乃滋依舊鮮脆口感, 很不錯.
The salad item might be vary each day. I thought Japanese salad would be like “Hana Bi Restuarant”, which is with sesame sauce or drops of balsamic sauce. It turns out to be a large shrimp salad with mayo. The shrimp is delicious even after covering with sweet mayo.

茶碗蒸 或 蛋捲

梅子鰻屋並不會像西式餐廳注重哪樣餐點需要先上或後上, 我當天用餐的時候茶碗蒸,湯品,和鰻魚飯是同時放上桌, 因此餐廳很貼心地將茶碗蒸和湯品皆附蓋保溫. 我是選茶碗蒸, 打開碗蓋, 只感受到微微的蛋香氣, 表面濕潤, 裡面也有雞肉, 也許選擇蛋捲會比較好?
Unlike western cuisine restaurants, UMEKO staffs do not wait for you to finish one dish and then serve the following. Therefore, they close the lid on the steamed egg and soup, which is very nice. There is only hints of egg aroma and flavor. There are also chicken meat inside. Maybe Tamagoyaki is a better choice?

側看飯盒時發現白飯比預期地少, 但鰻魚份量與厚度卻不會因為商業午餐而減少, 連同油亮蒲燒醬先咬一口鰻魚肉, 口感與國父念館 “小倉屋”表層酥脆口感不同, 梅子鰻屋的鰻魚肉是嫩度偏高, 這是普羅大眾已定型對鰻魚飯印象, 值得一提的是店家自製蒲燒醬較一般較甜, 美中不足的是鰻魚裡有小刺, 但整體來說, 鰻魚飯盒相當超值, 我會推薦單點鰻魚飯盒, 因為飯比較多, 可以滿足食慾.
Looking at the side of the box, the rice is definitely less than expected. However, there are still fair amount of eel meat. The meat quantity is very satisfied considering it is a business lunch set. Unlike “Kokuraya”, the meat is tender inside and out. The sauce is sweeter than expected. However, there are still some tiny fish thorns. Over all, this eel rice is very price-reasonable. But, I would suggest to order single eel rice since there will be more rice to fulfill the appetite.

湯品
Soup

湯品不定期更換, 由於梅子鰻屋採用活鰻魚而非冷凍, 於是跟“鳥喜”一樣善用食材的全部位, 當日湯品是鰻魚湯, 湯裡有鰻魚頭和一些鰻魚肉部位, 可惜湯品是中藥味道, 我個人比較不喜歡.
The soup may vary from time to time. UMEKO uses live eel instead of frozen eel. The concept is a bit similar with “Toriki Taipei Restaurant”, which means using up all the sections/areas of the ingredients. The daily soup is eel soup, which has the fish head and some of the eel meats. But, the soup tastes a bit like Chinese medicine soup, which I don’t personally like.

當日甜點是梅子凍, 酸的程度恰好可以解膩.
The daily dessert is plum jelly. The acidity assists to clear the tastebuds after eating.
