台灣除了“啤酒頭”外, 還有另一個品牌名為”鈦金屬兄弟”, 他們與德國釀酒大師Roland Bloch 研發出結合台灣當地食材結合英式淡色艾爾, 造就2016 WBA (World Beer Award) 台灣區獲得風味啤酒組的金牌- 無敵新生EPA無花果啤酒.
Local Taiwan brands become more popular, such as Taiwan Head Brewer. One of the rising stars would be “Arumi Titanium”. They cooperated with Roland Bloch, one of the german brewing masters, to develop infused Taiwan local ingredients with English Pale Ale. Their product – Figs English Pale Ale won the 2016 World Beer Awards Taiwan Area Gold Medal.

無花果屬於乾旱氣候區果實, 最常見的種植地區為地中海區域, 台灣則是近幾年材成功地在雲林種植無花果, 熟成的新鮮無花果含水量高達80%, 較易腐敗, 因此台灣人大部分將無花果做成果乾販售, 另一個方法則是當作果醬的原料, 最有名的則是“在欉紅”的無花果醬. 鈦金屬兄弟則是將無花果元素置入於精釀啤酒中.
Figs are usually grown in dry weather area (such as Mediterranean Area) instead of humid area such as Taiwan. However, Taiwanese successfully planted figs at Southern Taiwan Area, mostly in Yunlin. Due to figs’ water content is over 80%, it is easy to be over-matured. Therefore, Taiwanese use figs to make dried fruits and jams. Surprisingly, “Arumi Titanium” uses figs as part of craft beer ingredients.

 

 

當初喝到此款啤酒其實是在2016年時在某個小啤酒展覽喝到, 當時有用iphone做筆記. 印象中並不確定無花果的風味, 倒出但琥珀色的啤酒, 泡沫量適中不會馬上消失, 香味中帶有點果香味, 直到品酌一口時, 才感受到類似綜合蜂蜜與果香甜味, 隱約中帶有點麥芽風味但並沒有英式淡色艾爾經典苦味, 整體上是屬於清爽且滑順.
It was the year of 2016 when I drank this beer at a trade show. I used the iphone to write my note, so I can remember the flavor. When I first time see this beer, the memory of figs flavor wasn’t clear nor specific. Pouring out the light amber color beer with fair amount of foam. The nose only appears a bit of fruity flavor. While sipping the first taste, the tastebuds can detect mixed honey and fruity flavor. There is only hints of barley and isn’t bitter as expected. Generally, this is a refreshing and smooth craft beer.

 

此款啤酒在市面上的定位則被歸類為“女生愛喝”的精釀啤酒, 也非常適合單喝, 甚至野餐也很適合. This craft beer’s TA should be female. It is suitable for drink without pairing any food.
