“小後苑 Backyard Jr.” 位於 福里安花神咖啡館 Caffé Florian Coffee 的樓上, 也就是新光三越A9的3樓, 與信義安和捷運站附近的“後院，Larriere-cour” 是同一位老闆. 裝潢以沉穩陽剛的深褐色為主, 來自世界各地的威士忌牆環繞著餐廳, 深藍色絨布沙發則是帶給餐廳柔和的視覺感.
Besides “Backyard Jr.”, the owner has another whisky bar called Larriere-cour near Xinyi Anhe MRT station. Backyard Jr.’s exact location is at the 3F of Shinkong Mitsukoshi A9 Department Store, which is right above Caffé Florian Coffee. The interior design is mostly decorated with dark brown color and whiskey collections all over the world.
面對著長型且寬敞的吧台, 聽著Jazz的同時已經可以想像到入夜後吧台滿座的畫面, 服務生忙進忙出, Bartender 找尋櫥櫃裡客人寄放的酒瓶, 主廚偶爾走出廚房跟熟客打招呼, 氛圍像極餐酒館. 餐廳的營業時間至2am, 也可以坐在戶外高腳椅欣賞信義區夜景,與酒友小酌的時間才正要開始.
While listening to Jazz, I can imagine the bar would be packed with people dressed with suits or dresses during the night. However at the outdoor seating area, it would be more comfortable and relaxing. The operation hour of this restaurant is until 2am in the morning.

霧黑色淺盤為低調, 米白色干貝與鮮綠色蘆筍交錯, 橘得透澈的魚卵作為點綴, 有著奢華感. 跟SOGO 後面的L’AGE熟成餐廳不一樣就是微焦的外層包圍著干貝, 切開的同時感受到生食級干貝的軟嫩, 由於只有少許調味料, 干貝的天然鮮味顯得更為明顯. 單吃外, 也可沾濃郁的微甜玉米醬, 風味則升級為“鮮甜”,帶有中度鹹味的蛤蠣汁泡泡更是為此道料理增加了海鮮風味, 蘆筍清脆口感則是滿足喜愛不同口感的人. 這道菜餚雖然只有三顆干貝, 但前置作業時間與當下火侯控制都是非常地重要.
Scallops, asparaguses, and roes are displayed at the black plate. The appearance of all three scallops has hints of pan-seared marks, which is different from L’AGE Restaurant near Taipei SOGO. The taste of scallops is surprisingly tender and full of natural seafood aroma. You can also dip the scallops into the thick corn sauce. The taste would become more complex, which has sweetness flavor on the palate. The foam is actually oyster sauce which offers salty flavor. The asparaguses are crisp and delicious.

服務生手上拿著一小瓶神秘噴霧, 容器裡裝著Amrut Fusion Single Malt 印度威士忌, 將料理端上桌後, 隨後在淡菜上噴2 ~3 次, 即使威士忌的酒精濃度高達50%, 但已因為高溫而揮發, 只留下淡淡的酒香風味.
After serving this dish, the waitress sprayed the dish with Amrut Fusion Single Malt (India Whiskey). Due to the high temperature, the 50% ABV evaporated and left with hints of whisky aroma.
撥開絢麗色澤的外殼, 每顆貝肉視覺上都是肥腴飽滿, 由於是下酒菜, 蒜味與辣味這兩種元素不能少, 雖然重口味蓋住馬祖淡菜的鮮甜, 但品嚐起來口感依舊鮮嫰, 藏在淡菜下的湯汁精華則是可以淋在貝肉上多增加些海味, 若”鮮煎干貝佐蛤蠣泡泡”與“野生馬祖淡菜附威士忌噴霧”要擇一, 我會選擇後者.
Every mussel in this dish looked absolutely juicy. The tastebuds would sense the thick garlic and spicy flavors, which are perfect to pair with alcohols. The mussels tasted quite tender. The soup essence under the mussels can enhance the seafood aroma. If I need to choose between this dish and the scallop dish, I would choose this dish. The main reason is that I would want strong flavor dish to pair with whiskey.

刻板印象中, 威士忌都是單喝, 並不適合配菜,服務生太親切與店長太專業是我點酒的原因. 因為酒的種類眾多, “小後苑 Backyard Jr. “ 跟 “後院，Larriere-cour” 一樣都沒有酒單, 店長則是很專業地介紹可搭配海鮮的Dalwhinnie High land Single Malt.
Honestly, I wasn’t planning to drink whisky. However, the waitress and the store manager are quite friendly. Therefore, I asked the store manager for whiskey recommendations to pair with seafood. He offers “Dalwhinnie High land Single Malt”.
酒杯印有小後苑的Logo, 此款威士忌聞起來並不會霸氣, 而是細膩溫和的花果香與太妃糖香味, 喝起來並不會過於衝擊味蕾, 反而有著蜂蜜與少許杏仁風味, 非常適合搭配這兩道海鮮
“Dalwhinnie High land Single Malt” has medium-bodied fruity, floral, and toffee aroma. Unlike other whiskey, the flavor is smooth and elegant with hints of honeysuckle and almonds. I personally think that this whisky is perfect pairing with the above two dishes.
