這瓶“格蘭利威18年單一麥芽蘇格蘭威士忌”樣品罐是參加品牌活動【 格蘭利威品影幻境 】而獲得, 這次除了室溫純飲外, 也試著將罐中所剩的一小部分冷藏1小時.
I received this sample bottle “The Glenlivet 18 Years Single Malt Scotch Whisky” from the Glenlivet VR event. Besides drink this beer under room temptation, I also try to drink after refrigeration (around 5~ 8 degrees).

其實對初飲的消費者, 18年已經算是高年份. 樣品瓶裡的威士忌如同琥珀色接近淡銅色, 建議初飲者在轉開瓶蓋後先聞瓶蓋, 有一股濃郁的香甜味, 這就是雪莉桶的風味, 小酌一口, 圓潤的酒體入喉, 雖然濃度高, 還是味蕾可察覺更多類似”白蘭地“的熟成水果甜風味與微弱的太妃糖風味. 格蘭利威有不同年份, 可與12年(綠色瓶身)做比較, 12年的口感則是較為細緻且輕盈.
For a starter, 18 years old whisky is categorized as aged and expensive whiskey. The whisky color is closed to between amber and light bronze. The beginner can drink to sniff the cap. The so-called sherry cask appears, which is the thick matured fruity aroma. Even though the firm texture of whisky has high ABV, the tastebuds still can detect the toffee, which is similar with Brandy flavor. Comparing with The Glenlivet 12 years, the 12 years is more light and has clean end.



突發奇想將剩一半的樣品罐拿去冷藏, 拿出時罐身當然沒有結霜 (5度C~8度C而已). 喝了第一口, 迷人的香氣完全被抵制, 酒體轉為更濃稠但較無嗆辣感, 我個人的結論是若喜歡迷人討喜帶有多層次香氣的威士忌盡量不要冰飲!
After reading one article about “refrigerated whisky”, I might as well try it since there isn’t much left at the sample bottle. After refrigeration (only 5~ 8 degrees), the fruity aroma is completed compressed and gone for a moment. The whisky texture becomes thicker. You can’t barely tell it is ABV 40%. My personal opinion is that if you like your whisky to be full of sherry aroma, it would be better NOT to refrigerate.
