Prologue 序言
大稻埕已不再是所謂的 “Hidden Gem”. 大稻埕已經是國際旅客熟知的台北代表性街區之一.
那天我先去登記 “ 江牛樓 ” , 接著便在大稻埕隨性漫遊.
那天經過 茶苑 CHA-EN 店面時 , 被戶外座位區的品茶菜單吸引. 再往店內一看，發現有不少外國旅客正在選茶，於是決定走進去一探究竟.
Dadaocheng is no longer a so-called “hidden gem.” It has become one of Taipei’s most recognizable neighborhoods among international travelers.
On the day of my visit, I first stopped by to put my name down at Jiang Niu Lou, then wandered casually through Dadaocheng.
When I passed by Cha-En, I was immediately drawn to the tea-tasting menu displayed in the outdoor seating area. A glance inside revealed several foreign visitors selecting tea, which convinced me to step in and explore.

茶苑 CHA-EN 在台灣的品牌知名度雖不算高，卻經常出現在日本的報章雜誌中. 店裏有兩位店員, 一位是日籍店員精通日語與國語 , 另一位法籍店員精通法語, 英語與國語. 對於初次接觸台灣茶的國際旅客而言，能用熟悉的語言理解茶款背景與風味差異，是非常加分的體驗.
Although Cha-En’s brand recognition in Taiwanese consumer is relatively low, it frequently appears in Japanese newspapers and magazines. The shop is staffed by two team members: one Japanese staff member fluent in Japanese and Mandarin, and one French staff member fluent in French, English, and Mandarin. For international visitors who are new to Taiwanese tea, being able to learn about tea origins and flavor profiles in a familiar language is a major plus.

Not Just Selling Tea, They Truly Know How to Brew It
許多茶葉專賣店的店員具備基本茶知識，但「懂茶」與「會泡茶」其實是兩件事.茶苑店員會在櫃檯旁的長桌泡茶. 依照不同茶款精準掌握水溫與時間，讓客人試飲。在品茶過程中，店員也會自然地分享台灣茶的產區背景、製茶工藝與文化脈絡.
Many tea shops staff has basic tea knowledge. But “knowing tea” and “knowing how to brew tea” are two very different things. At Cha-En, the staff brew tea at a long counter next to the register, carefully controlling water temperature and steeping time for each variety. Guests can taste it properly. During the tasting, the staffs share insights into tea-growing regions, production methods, and the cultural of Taiwanese tea.

茶苑展示區陳列多款來自不同產區的台灣茶. 禮盒包裝設計不會過於花俏. 展示櫃也有來自中國的白牡丹 (白茶). 對於平時就習慣買茶回家沖泡、不追求禮盒或茶罐的飲茶者而言，茶苑提供 鋁箔袋單包裝選項 非常實用. 我當天就買了茶苑的鐵觀音茶葉回家品嚐. 之後也在店內坐下，喝了一杯由店員沖泡的紅玉烏龍.
Cha-En showcases a wide selection of Taiwanese teas from different regions. The gift box designs are understated rather than flashy, and the display cases also include Chinese Bai Mudan (White Peony white tea). For those who regularly buy tea to brew at home and don’t need gift boxes or tins, Cha-En’s option to purchase tea leaves in simple aluminum foil packages is extremely practical. I purchased Tieguanyin to take home and later sat down in the shop to enjoy a cup of Ruby Oolong brewed by the staff.
