新開幕的小倉屋是少數開在台北東區鰻魚飯日本餐廳, 遠離中山區日本料理一級戰區, 選擇在國父紀念館捷運站附近.
Newly-opened Kokuraya is one of a few eel rice restaurants in Taipei East District. They decide to open near SYS Memorial Hall MRT station instead of Zhongshan District.

有著日式木質風格的室內外裝潢, 座位並不會像“肥前屋”擁擠, 也沒有像“大東屋”有隔開空間, 店員十分地親切, 即使忙碌, 也不忘客人入座後提供熱茶, 廚房在座位區後方, 但是並無吧台. 桌上葫蘆形狀容器裝得是山椒, 白色瓶內則是蒲燒醬汁.
Both outdoor and indoor designs are Japanese theme. The seats are not crowded nor divided into section like “Da-Dong Eel House”. All staffs are very friendly to serve hot tea right after seating. The kitchen is at the back of the restaurant, however, there is no bar seat. The gourd-shape brown color container has pepper in it. As for the white color bottle, it has the sauce for eel rice.

吃過 “肥前屋”, “大東屋” 和 “大江戶町鰻屋”後, 對鰻魚飯的概念與口感已定型, 但 ”小倉屋“不同於其他家而採用關西烤鰻技法, 與在家中秋烤肉方式雷同, 會將食材串上籤. “小倉屋”則是將預切鰻魚串上鐵籤, 直接火烤, 造就讓人意想不到的表層酥脆口感.
The impression of eel meat is soft and tender. However, this restaurant uses different kind of cooking method originated from Kansai, Japan. The method does not involve steaming, but only involve grilling. The chefs would put the pre-cut eel meat on the iron stick and grill throughly. Therefore, the skin would be crispy instead of tender.
鰻櫃定食的鰻魚是六切也就是菜單上提到的 “竹”, 可惜服務生回答不出來幾公克, 鰻櫃定食其實跟 “大江戶町鰻屋”一樣都是鰻魚三吃, 只少了溫泉蛋襯托. 打開桶蓋頗為失望, 因為似乎廚師預切時並沒有算好間隔距離, 導致變成八切, 因為份量不變, 導致鰻魚肉並不像市面上排得整齊, 視覺上並不討喜.油脂與蒲燒醬汁融合在一起 , 鰻魚口感並沒有軟化或過嫩, 而是如預期般地酥脆, 相當不錯. 此外, 蒲燒醬汁並不會過甜或過鹹, 個性較不強烈, 也許是因為用了丸莊醬油的關係?!?
This dish is similar with the one at “Edo Machi Eel Rice Restaurant”. It is basically eating the eel rice three ways- add broth, add wasabi or just plain sauce. I was disappointed when opening the lid. The small pieces look a bit like train wreck. It is supposed to look like every other eel rice restaurants, which display beautifully. The visual isn’t delightful. However, the skin is expectedly crispy and delicious. The sauce doesn’t have a strong character, which means it is not too salty nor overly sweet.
昆布高湯本身並沒有明顯風味, 並不像 “大江戶町鰻屋” 的柴魚高湯好喝,清淡並無記憶點, 加入飯中並沒有預期中地有特色, 漬小黃瓜相當脆且解膩.
The broth sadly doesn’t have obvious flavor, unlike “Edo Machi Eel Rice Restaurant” ’s bonito fish broth. The pickled cucumber is crisp and refreshing.
I would still recommend eel rice lovers to come here to try out.
